On October 29 – 30, 2025, two events on digitalisation and innovation in logistics flows with a focus on rail-road terminals were organised by Unione Interporti Riuniti (UIR) and ALIS – Association for Sustainable Intermodal Logistics, in Rome.
The two conferences were the occasion to bring together institutional representatives, industry players and experts to discuss funding, project development and the future of logistics.
The first meeting, titled “120 Seconds of Digital Growth”, was the occasion to present the support activity for RRTs in managing PNRR funding for digitalisation. Practical inputs and project ideas were shared with UIR partners and delegates from Rete Autostrade Mediterranee SpA and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with a focus on turning funding opportunities into scalable and replicable projects that strengthen digital capabilities of these important infrastructure nodes of the logistics sector.
The following day, the panel “La Logistica del Futuro” convened a wide range of sector experts representing different institutions to debate automation, data-driven operations and resilient multimodal networks.
The meeting also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Vice-Presidents of UIR and ALIS, Gianpaolo Serpagli and Marcello Di Caterina, representing a formal step toward closer cooperation between the two associations to strengthen digital connectivity and efficiency of RRTs and the whole logistics sector.
