On 12 March 2026, we attended the event “Safe and secure parking areas supporting the national logistics network: practical experiences from the PASS4CORE projects”, held within LET EXPO 2026 at the stand of Unione Interporti Riuniti.
The session focused on the strategic role of Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPA) in strengthening the European logistics network, with particular attention to the experiences developed through the PASS4CORE projects and the future perspectives for the sector.
During the event, several topics related to the development of SSTPAs in Italy were discussed, including the opportunities offered by European funding programmes, the infrastructural needs of freight transport and the importance of building a more integrated, efficient and sustainable logistics network.
The final roundtable also provided an important opportunity for discussion among logistics, port and energy stakeholders on the main operational and technological challenges linked to the development of SSTPAs across the national and European network.
