On 29 May 2025, at the Provincial Offices in Mantua, the “Manifesto for the Sustainable Development of the Padano‑Veneto Inland Waterway System” – produced by the Living Lab of the CRISTAL Project (Horizon Europe) – was unveiled.
Representing Infrastrutture Venete Srl, Riccardo Maratini presented the study on cold ironing conducted within the Italian pilot activity led by Uniontrasporti.
The morning session continued with a high‑level roundtable comparing strategic inland‑waterway themes across multiple institutional levels.
A technical working group then focused on incentives for inland waterway transport, gathering insights from leading IWW operators to inform the efficient use of forthcoming European funds. The Manifesto thus will serve as the foundation for an integrated, strategic vision to revitalize inland‑waterway transport across the Padano‑Veneto area.
